An established tradition may be suitable. However, it becomes evil when it is a substitute for the Word of God. Take a denominational church that certifies and ordains women as Bishops or Pastors. It sounds good. Equal rights are embedded into Western society but are contrasted and depart from the Word of God. Worship is empty when men’s rules are substituted for the Word of God. Mark 7:7-9 explains that all human customs, rationalizations, and traditions must be subservient as one must be to God’s word. There is no grey, only black and white. In 1 Timothy, one reads that Paul requests Thomas to stay in Ephesus due to the teaching of false doctrines. In 1 Timothy 2:12, Paul states that women are not allowed to teach or have authority over men. In 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Paul lists the qualifications necessary to become an overseer, which excludes women. One must understand that Paul, before conversion, Act 9:1-9 was Saul, a student of Gamaliel. Saul received extensive training in OT law and rabbinic traditions and, in Act 9:15, was chosen by Christ Jesus to serve. So, it is clear that Paul’s reasons for excluding women from being Bishops or pastors are based on that extensive Torah background, guided by the Holy Spirit that relates to Genesis 2:18, in which God created Eve as a helper to Adam. Paul continues his battle against Progressive ideology, which considers themselves above scripture, by informing in 2 Timothy 3:16 that “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.” However, Progressives would have you believe that they are the ultimate truth-tellers by spinning and using words such as cultural bias and sexism to promote their ideology. Paul in 2 Timothy 4:3 informs us that “time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine but will follow their desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear.”  Every one of us has to choose.

Do we submit totally to the Word of God, or Do we partially submit using human customs and rationalities? Each choice leads one down a different road. But wait, my church that certifies and ordains women reveres the Holy Bible by having us stand during the reading of the word. Discounting and respecting are called being double-minded. James 1:2-8 states that doubting-minded is like “surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” Progressive ideology is self-serving, using and promoting Christ as a product. So, what do I do? Progressive churches will not change or alter their ideology; they have already made their choice. It is your turn now. My guidance is to find a church that genuinely reveres the Holy Bible and stands with every word. The direction of your eternal life depends on your decision.
