This often comes in the guise of justifying sinful behavior by distorting theological concepts like “love thy neighbor,” “all sin,” and “God is love” to distort the truth.
A clear warning sign that a church or denomination has shifted towards progressive, “woke” ideology is the acceptance of women serving as bishops, pastors, or ministers over men. This contradicts Scripture and undermines God’s intended order for the church and family. While women’s ministries and roles as deacons can be invaluable—especially in serving widows or other women—there is a crucial distinction that must be maintained.
Furthermore, if a church fails to uphold God’s commandments, it raises a serious question: How can anyone genuinely claim to love God while disregarding His commandments? The reality is that such claims are inconsistent. It’s essential to be attuned to the Holy Spirit’s conviction in our lives, as this guidance is vital and can determine the course of our lives.
