The Anti-Christian Agenda Behind
Canada’s Bill C-9: Satan’s Strategy Unmasked

Canada’s Bill C-9, titled the Combatting Hate Act, amends the Criminal Code to expand hate propaganda and hate crime provisions while ostensibly protecting access to religious and cultural places. While framed as a response to rising hate incidents, the bill is profoundly anti-Christian because it repeals longstanding religious speech defenses. Previously, good-faith expressions of opinion based on religious texts were protected in cases of willful promotion of hatred. Bill C-9 removes this safeguard, opening the door for prosecutors to treat core biblical teachings—on marriage, sexuality, human sinfulness, or the exclusivity of Christ—as “hate” against protected groups defined by sexual orientation or gender identity.

This represents a direct attack on the Christian conscience and the public proclamation of the Gospel. Scripture commands believers to speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), call sin what it is, and preach repentance and faith in Christ alone. Under this bill, faithful preaching or even private biblical discussion could be criminalized if deemed to “vilify” or “detest” certain behaviors or identities. Such legislation does not merely limit speech; it subordinates God’s Word to state-approved ideology, echoing historical persecutions where authorities silenced prophets for declaring unpopular truths.

This trend is the Work of Satan

This accelerating trend toward criminalizing Christian conviction is not merely political overreach but a spiritual assault by the enemy of our souls. Scripture warns that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19) and that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light while seeking to deceive and destroy (2 Corinthians 11:14; 1 Peter 5:8). By inverting good and evil—labeling biblical truth as “hate” while protecting rebellion against God’s created order—these policies advance the ancient lie: “Did God really say?” (Genesis 3:1). They suppress the knowledge of God (Romans 1) and prepare the way for greater persecution of the Church. Christians must respond with prayer, bold witness, and unwavering fidelity to Scripture, knowing that the gates of hell will not prevail against Christ’s Church (Matthew 16:18). True freedom comes from standing firm in the truth that sets us free (John 8:32).
